The Sri Lanka Men and Women’s Beach Volleyball Teams consisting of Women’s Teams Geethika Gunawardana, Thakshila Gunasinghe, Nirosha Lakmini, Gnanasagari Gunasinghe Men’s Teams Pubudu Ekanayake, Sampath Peris, Wasantha Rathnapala, Mahesh Perera qualified for the AVC Beach Volleyball Continental Cup qualification for the London Olympic 2012which is to be held from the 20th – 24th June 2012 at Fuzhou, China.

The Men and Women’s Beach Volleyball Teams are also schedule to participate at the 03rd Asian Beach Games 12th – 18th June 2012 at Hayang, China. Women’s Teams Geethika Gunawardana, Thakshila Gunasinghe, Nirosha Lakmini, Gnanasagari Gunasinghe Men’s Teams Pubudu Ekanayake, Sampath Peris, Asanka Kumara, Malintha Yapa.
Hon. Dilan Perera President of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion & Welfare attended the 32nd AVC Board of Administration Meeting 23rd – 26th April 2012 in Beijing, China in his capacity as a Member of the AVC Board of Administration.
M/s Kapila Banneheka and Vimal Amaranath very creditability passed out at the FIVB conducted International Referee Candidate Course held on 22nd 28th April 2012 at FIVB D.C Chennai, India.
