ශ්රී ලංකා වොලිබෝල් සම්මේලනයේ 2012 වාර්ෂික නිලවරණය පසුගියදා කොළඹ ඔලිම්පික්හවුස් හිදී පැවැත්විණි.
එම අවස්ථාවේදී වොලිබෝල් ක්රීඩාවේ උන්නතිය වෙනුවෙන් කටයුතු කළ වොලිබෝල් සංගමයේ පැරණි සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් වොලිබෝල් ක්රීඩාවේ උන්නතිය සඳහා කළ සේවය අගයමින්, ඇගයීමේ තිලිණ ප්රදානයක් සිදු කෙරිණි.
එහිදී ශ්රී ලංකාවේ කීර්තිමත් දේශපාලඥයකු වන රොනී ද මැල් මහතාට විශේෂ තිළිණයක් ප්රදානය කිරීම විශේෂත්වයක් විය.
ශ්රී ලංකා වොලිබෝල් සම්මේලනයට ස්ථීර නිවහනක් ලබාදීමට පුරෝගාමීවී කටයුතු කළ ඒ මහතා 1987 සිට 1989 දක්වා ශ්රී ලංකා වොලිබෝල් සම්මේලනයේ සභාපති තනතුර දැරීය. ශ්රී ලංකාවට ප්රථම ජාත්යන්තර වොලිබෝල් පුහුණු මධ්යස්ථානය හිමිවූයේ ඔහු සභාපතිත්වය දරණ අවධියේදීය.
රොනී ද මැල් මහතා වොලිබෝල් ක්රීඩාවට කළ විශිෂ්ට සේවය අගය කරමින් ශ්රී ලංකා වොලිබෝල් සම්මේලනයේ 2012 සභාපති තනතුරට, අටවෙනි වරටත් නිතරඟයෙන් ඉදිරිපත් වූ විදේශ රැකියා ප්රවර්ධන හා සුභසාධන අමාත්යය නීතිඥ ඩිලාන් පෙරේරා මහතා රොනී ද මැල් මහතා වෙත තිළිණ ප්රදානය කළේය.

The FIVB which is the World Controlling Body for both Volleyball and Beach Volleyball requested its 220 affiliates World Wide to conduct a Volley All Festival with special emphasis on a Youth and Children Promotions Strategy for the Development of Volleyball. In the year 2011 the participants of this Event numbered slightly below One Million World Wide. In 2012 the World will celebrate the Olympic Games and FIVB is very keen to show that its National Federations are among the World leading Sports when it s comes to Development and Promoting Sports among Youth.
The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation which has always responded magnificently to this type of requirement made a very significant contribution in 2011.
The SLVF on their part organized this event in Hali-Ela in the Uva Province on the 31st May and 01st June, 2011. School Children numbering over 300 in age groups of 12, 14, and 16 participated and 35 Schools were presented with “Kids Volley Ball’s”, of Volley all Festival, FIVB which was a new experience in the field of Volleyball and no doubt Developed the enthusiasm of these Kids.
17/08: Grand Finals of the 13th DSI Super Sports Schools Volleyball Championship on 19th and 20th August
All arrangements are now in place to conduct the DSI Super Sports Schools Volleyball Championship 2011 on 19th and 20th August at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo.
Dammissara Central College from Naththandiya which has claimed the past glory has qualified for three finals.
This years tournament was conducted in three stages namely District, Province and national level and more than five thousand teams took part in the tournament. The opening matches of the tournament were held on 09 June 2011 in district level. The DSI group is the main sponsor of the event while the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation along with the Ministry of Education conducts the tournament.
The schedule of final matches is as follows.

Hon Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage, President of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and Hon Minister Dilan Perera and Hon Namal Rajapaksa M.P will grace the final sessions of the event along with host of distinguished invitees.
